i find it quite annoying that after poweroff all epg info is deleted.

wouldn't it be possible to save the epg-files to flash before shutdown and re-inject them to proper place after boot..?

Yes, this is really wanted. Still wanted. Since few years and no success. (or none is willing to work on this)
We don`t know where epg is stored (on rw partitions or on some config eeprom).
