for ue40es6100 in Germany, can I flash firmware from asia?

recently I bought a ue40es6100 in Germany. unfortunately it does not provide built-in Chinese character support. Many movies I have are in mkv format with inner subtitles, but when played, I can only see a square character on the screen for most of the words. Is it possible to flash a different firmware from the asia region? thanks!

Any Help would be appreciated here same issue i need Arabic in my Smart TV UE40ES6710S bought from Germany !!!

You may not need a firmware change as it may just be a regional setting.

Be careful messing with this menu as it is very easy to brick your tv if you change the wrong settings.
Also have a look at this thread where users successfully updated their TVs from French to UK Region settings. This unlocked Freesat functionality and no firmware update was required.
