LE40C650 TV restarts every 10 sec, problem with firmware?

Post by cieszyn20 »

After updating the latest firmware from samsung website I have a big problem. Firstly when i run tv is start showing an error whit the motherboard (although nothing was changed)

. Worse TV restarts after about 5-10 seconds. And what's more - tv sometimes does not respond to the remote control. Probably set the wrong model of TV as shown in the screenshot of the service menu (TV after the warranty). Unfortunately, I can not really do anything because tv restarts. Has anyone had a similar problem or know what to do? I would add that the tv was in non authorized service where rule out problems with power supply and hardware but does not help with soft. Request for advice and guidance. Thanks in advance for your help

first try to disable the watchdog in SM and then find someone with same model to compare entrys (i have a ue40c6500, don't know if thats close enough.
//UE40C6500 @ T-VALDEUC 3011 // rooted manual HotelMode style // PVR to NFS via 18MB on-the-fly sparse XFS // >> decommissioned due to tuner death
//UE46F8090 @ T-FXPDEUC 1136 // rooted by new Widget // root starting with empty usb drive
FYI: you can close your ssh session with SamyGO with

Code: Select all

~.
If you can't fix it using dvct tape, you are not using enough dvct tape.

Other option is to remove back panel and check if the board number is the same like the service menu...

If you`re quick enough, disable watchdog in service menu. but here can be not enough time to do that. but migh you are lucky.

If above won`t help, then i think he is best candidate for micom eeprom surgery. You need to switch partitions back to initial state. If firmware is not hacked, then possible ways to do that:
1. Replace mainboard by healthy one
2. Locate, idetify and read micom config eeprom (none did this on C series yet). you can do that in two ways:
  • 1. Arduino ethernet interface
  • 2.Remove chip, use any programmer for I2C eeproms (e.g. Wilem`s programmer), place it back. But for that you`ll need some surface soldering skills...
And be bewared, that your problem can be another and methods above won`t help either. :?
