BD EM57 downgrade?

Does anyone have info on how to downgrade BD-EM57 firmware to a non cinavia friendly version? I have tried the DSN given at beginning of topic, and the response when trying to download is "No upgrade found". Presently the version of firmware ends with ...05_001018 ... I have two of the BD-EM57 players and both have auto upgraded twice in the past year. I never had a problem with Cinavia until the last upgrade. Thanks

full version means full version (SWU_<blabla>_<release_date>)
think it is users "job" to figure it out.

there is also a different problem, users device reported SWU_B-BRCME57BSP_001018_I04_ES000DS000KS000RS000_121005 to server whats really "funny"
then there is no such version, just SWU_B-BRCME57BSP_001018_I05_ES000KS000RS000DS000BS000_121005.
i just have one older firm with version SWU_B-BRCME57BSP_001016_I04_ES000KS000RS000DS000_120830

summary: same situation like B-BRCM53BSP 66% chance for brick on downgrade.

@jerry
i found some older firwares:
SpoilerShow
SWU_B-BRCME57BSP_001010_I04_ES000KS000RS000DS000_120426
SWU_B-BRCME57BSP_001012_I04_ES000KS000RS000DS000_120607
SWU_B-BRCME57BSP_001014_I04_ES000KS000RS000DS000_120713
SWU_B-BRCME57BSP_001015_I05_ES000KS000RS000DS000BS000_120726
SWU_B-BRCME57BSP_001016_I04_ES000KS000RS000DS000_120830
so make a selection to what you like to downgrade, and no, i don't know what version will brick or not brick your device or which has a "good picture quallity".

Well I guess I'm out of luck. The full version number of firmware presently installed is SWU_B-BRCME57BSP_001018_I05_ES000KS000RS000DS000BS000_121005. Samsung's site shows only one upgrade, the present version, though the BD EM57 has upgraded twice. Once in August. 2012, and once around November 2012. Though Samsung shows the model as BD EM57C when I registered with their site, the model of my Blurays is BD EM57, not BD EM57C. I understand the "C" simply means the place of Manufacture.. with "C" meaning China.; Sorry for the confusion. Undoubtedly when first manufactured this model did not recognize Cinavia embedded files when streaming with Tversity, until the last upgrade. Now I cannot watch files without the audio being muted after 20 min... The same files I had no problem with before the last update.

So logically thinking, this should be ok for you...

Code: Select all

SWU_B-BRCME57BSP_001015_I05_ES000KS000RS000DS000BS000_120726

is online.... (open for all)

Hello, I was wondering if you have a patch for the BD EM57 bluray player to disable cinavia??? I downloaded and installed the firmware downgrade from your DNS, but Cinavia is still present, and an aggravation. The firmware downloaded from your DNS is ending in 0090 thus meaning it's not a patched firmware. I appreciate any help. Thank you, Jerry

Thank you for the invaluable info and the time you put into helping people with these Samsung BD downgrade issues.

I own a SAMSUNG BD-EM57 ZA built 1/10/2012
Firmware version- BSPEM57WWB1015.1
2012/07/26_001090

I was able to do the first page firmware upgrade with new DNS so it now says 2012/07/26_001090
but I'm still getting the Cinavia popup after 20 minutes.
Is there any other method I can try? It now says "no upgrade available" if I follow the original firmware downgrade steps. :(

I just want to use the USB jack without the Cinavia problems,if it is even possible.

Any help is very much appreciated
