In the service menu it says

T-MST10DEUC - 1032.0
T-MST10DEUC - 1001

If I do a factory reset from here - would it go back to firmware 1001 ?

You dont change firmware by doing factory reset. Wait, maybe samsung will fix issue with next firmware?

did some research on the mediaplayer, found out I could fix it from there and that it was not the Samsung update which made the trouble.
