UE46EH5000

Post by charmin »

(Post moved to Support... )

Hi,

I have just purchased (not delivered yet...) a UE46EH5000 and wanted to know what can be added or activated on this model. I have spent hours reading the Wiki discussions but struth this is all complicated if you are a newbie...
So here are a couple of questions with some SamyGo knowledge added in:

Can the Smart TV options (widgets etc) be turned on or is this just not possible on this model without a two year course in Linux ? ;)

I think the Lan / WiFi option either through direct lan or USB dongle can be activated, I'm guessing this would be for All Share etc ? if I had a genuine Samsung USB dongle can I easily access the TV menu to turn the option on, I believe you need to have a modified RC, ? if I need to have a different remote control to access the control panel (using a One for All for example) what TV model would I need to set the remote to ?

Many thanks...

Thanks for the reply,

UE46EH5000

I have now tried using the 'ruSamsungTVCommunicator' hard wired through lan cable to the TV and to my wireless router and the PC.
The TV connects straight away to the router and shows an IP of 192.168.0.3, when I run ruSTVC it comes up with an error (in German) which seems to indicate its trying to look at 192.168.0.4, that IP is my PC... I have tried turning off Win 7 Firewall also my Avast security, but still will not connect.

The TV came with the latest (March 3rd 2013) Firmware 1023, on RU website there is mention of later firmware not allowing certain actions but it isn't specific as to what series of TV's D,E etc which isn't very helpful...

Anybody have any ideas...?

Thanks

I think this should be so simple but it's proving to be so difficult... !

Any suggestions (really, ANY suggestion...) as to why I cannot get the ruSTVC to connect to my TV are very welcome.

Also, in the WiKi it says If you have programable RC like "One For All" URC-7320 or similar, you also can send required codes to TV.... "how", what are the codes and how would you load them into the remote (the one I have is a learning remote but where would you get the original codes from...?)

Thanks

So I have taken the easy route and purchased the Service Remote Control (?15 eBay), success on adding All Share which is now working fine.

I've hardwired the Lan to my router so no WiFi required, streaming from PC, Smart Phone works great.

Having got this far what else is worth trying... ? With the remote I can see that the TV model number can also be changed, as mine is a 5000 without SMART is it worth trying to set it to a 5300 and will this enable other SMART functions ?

Thanks
