First of all thanks for the efforts to help out samsung users suffering both technical and legal problems.Your forum is paradise for those are lost seeking a breakthrough , googling every bit of information to beat ***navia..

My problem might be a bit less complicated so id like to ask you first before get lost in between downgrade mess.

I have HT-D6750W Bluray Home Cinema System.It is a great player but lack iso player support due to legal issues.So i use Himedia q5 as android media player and download legal iso films for educational purposes(!) and watch that way..

However i found out the true hd 7.1 and dts hd5.1 sound codecs are somehow not working with my setup.Neither himedia q5 nor my BD has hardware error i cross-checked.I tried every single sound setting combination but no help.

H?media is linked to Samsung BD with 1.4 HDMI.

Afaik the sound setting of Himedia q5 should be passthough : ON / HBR : Off
And on samsung HT-D6750W either LPCM : ON or Passthrough : ON..

When both devices are passthough the sound is just silenced when truehd 7.1 or DTS HD 5.1 is selected.
When Himedia is passthough and samsung BD is LPCM then i get a constant high frequency static noise which drive me nuts !

If i choose PCM : ON for himedia the sound is not surround anymore.Really it is like stereo so i dont want to watch those amazing films in this setup.I should either find ordinary DTS / dolby digital 5.1 iso or BDMW bluray films or stuck with stereo ..

I searched through internet and found out other himedia users with samsung ht bluray series suffer the same ( himedia 910A doest the same thing) The Himedia technicians claim that their device is not broken and it mght be a conflict between samsung and himedia.So i doubt you can find a fix to this incompatibility.

I thought we can bypass this problem perhaps if i burn these isos or remuxes to a bluray disc and try to play them with samsung bluray drive.As you know there are exact copies of bluray discs as iso files , bluray remuxes , bluray films ripped as mkv with true hd 7.1 and dtshd 5.1 codecs wit almost same quaity with the orginal bluray film.I want to confirm if my ht-d6750w device will just block these discs i will burn or show up C**navia message.Perhaps i can download huge mkv films with true hd.1 sound for qualty and turn them to bluray dics with bdmw files so i dont get C**navia crap.Does my bluray player let me watch somehow if i burn those movies to discs either just mkv , remuxes , original isos or some other type? I didn't get any C**navia message when i try to watch mkv movies with true hd sound codec through usb hdd without help of himedia , it was just sound not working properly.So it seems i can turn those files to a bluray disc and be able to watch and bypass sound incompatiblity?

What is your suggestion?

If your HT-D6750W never was upgraded, it probably doesnt have any cinavia protection enabled. They included the cinavia protection in one of their updates.
I think the 1012 firmware was ok, but the later versions had cinavia.

To remove the cinavia protection, you must upgrade to SamyGo firmware using the dns trick. Then you will get version 1116 (based on 1016). Then download the SamyGO extension to enable ftp access to your box and apply the exeDSP pacth (there are wiki's on how to do this on this forum).
I know that this will work with the HT-D6750W, because I have the same model and I just did this procedure.

Then you should be able to play your mkv files directly from a usb hdd or usb stick, with out the need to burn them on disc's. For ISO files I dont know if they can be played from usb, I have never tested that.

nope you cant play iso files from usb mate i tried that.

unfortunately i did updated via internet so cinavia is there i assume.

the downgrade process seems risky for me .

I just wonder if those iso files i downloaded from torrent sites can be played properly when i burn them?

Its actually not a downgrade process, since the Samygo firmware is based on 1016.
They have labeled it 1116, this is I think to make sure it will be detected as a higher version so that the BD player will accept it as an upgrade.
You do this in steps, and the first steps are safe enaugh I think.

1st step - The DNS trick. The dns trick will do an "update" just as safely as you did a normal update from samsung.
The only risk here would be doing this on a player that isnt supported. Since others have done it before you with success on the HT-D6750W, you know its compatible with this firmware.

2nd step - Getting the SamyGO extension. It does install just like any other extension on the HT-D6750W. I cant see any risk in messing this up. If you do it worng, you will just not be able to download and install the extension.

3rd step - Connect to your HT-6750W from your PC with an FTP client and download two files. (/mtd_exe/exeDSP and /mtd_exe/rc.local to your pc)
At this step you dont do any changes on your box, so no risk involved.

Note that exeDSP wiki does say something about downloading some firmware from samsung and decrypting it to get the exeDSP file. In your case you dont need to do this, You already have the needed file, downloaded from your box in step 3.

4th step - Get the Freepatcher, download it from the link in the wiki: http://sourceforge.net/projects/samygo/ ... p/download
Extract the executable to your PC and put it in the same folder as your exeDSP file. Then run the freepatcher. It will by default make a backup of the exeDSP file (exeDSP.bak) , and create a patched version of your exeDSP file. When finished succesfully it should give you a message like this : 18 bytes written. Then you know it is successful.
No risk involved in this step either, as you only work on yor PC now.

5th step. Transfer the exeDSP (the patched one) with FTP, to your box into the /mtd_rwarea folder.
Note this is a different folder than where you got it from, so that you do not overwrite any existing file. After transfering the file, right-click the file and CHMOD to 755. (Some FTP clients might have different way to do this, perhaps file - properties or similar.
The only risk here is if you transfer the file to the wrong folder.

6th step. Get Notepad+ (just google it and download and install it) . Use Notepad+ to edit the rc.local file exactly as instructed in the wiki.
Look in the wiki, step 9. There is a line to add to be 100% safe.
When your file looks like the one in the example in the wiki, save it as a linux script file, and name it user.sh
Then transfer it to your box, to the /mtd_rwarea folder, and CHMOD it to 755.
The risk here is if you done something very wrong in editing the user.sh file, and the box will halt during startup.

7th step. Shut your box down and pull the power plug and wait a minute before putting the plug back. Then you can start the box and try the pacth by playing a cinavia protected file.
No changes made in this step, so no risk here if the steps above was done correctly Just hold your breath an pray that everything went ok.

8th step. That "100% safe" line you added. Does rename your user.sh file after each cold restart. So next time you pull the power and puts it back on, the script will not be there. FTP to your box and check, the file /mtd_rwarea/user.sh.safe should now be there and the user.sh is gone.
Now that you know that that the patch is working, you can edit the user.sh file again, and this time remove that line
mv /mtd_rwarea/user.sh /mtd_rwarea/user.sh.safe
Then the pacth will be permanently after next cold restart.
The risk in this step is similar to the risk in step 6.

Note that I have done this process twice on my box. Both times the above went without problems. I did however manage to break my box once, but then I was testing something else (outside this wiki) and did mess around with some other files I shouldnt have..
But I still had warranty, so I got the box fixed and then applied this pacth again after getting it back from repair.
