Hello
I am in the process of setting up satellite television.
something that bothers me is the timeout of the menus.. if i leave the menu for more than a few seconds the menu shutdown
is there a way to tell the tv not to exit the menu automatically? increase timeout to 5 minutes or so would be already enough.
something else, how can i clear the channels list without resetting to factory settings?
thank you.
Mario.

No available solution, but if someone finds place to patch, then possible. Maybe enough to change one byte?

Delete files in /mtd_rwarea
Code: Select all
map-AirA
map-AirAb
map-CableA
map-CableB
map-CableBd
theoretically should be enough.

Hi
I don't know if the following will be of any use to you, but when I wanted to clear the channel list Samsung sent the following to me.
Clear Freeview Channels and rescan ? to re-sort channel order
Regarding your query it is possible to completely clear all of the channels and then rescan them back in, this is called a cache clean.
First of all please remove your aerial cable from your television then go through the steps below:
1. Turn the television on and press the MENU button.
2. Press the down arrow button and go down twice until the satellite dish icon on the left hand side of the screen is highlighted, this may say CHANNEL.
3. Press the right arrow and use the down arrow to come down to AUTO TUNING.
4. Select AUTO TUNING again from the list of options by pressing the right arrow on it.
4. Select AIR and then DIGITAL or DIGITAL AND ANALOGUE from the list.
5. Press the down arrow button go to search and press ENTER.
6. Your television will automatically run through a channel search and pick up your channels do not press any button on your television while this is running through.
7. When the scan is finished press the EXIT button to get out of the menu.
When the scan is complete with the aerial removed your system will be cleared of all of the Freeview channels. Please turn the television back off plug in the aerial cable then go through the steps above again this will rescan all of your channels.
Please note however if you find your channels are mixed up this may be due to the fact that the model number you have listed above indicates a non-UK television model.
If there is anything else we can help with, please let us know.
