I did figure out how to install the netflix app.
This was easy, just go to smart hub, press the following on the remote: FF, 2, 8, 9, RW and then select USA as country. Then the betflix app is available to install.
But when launching netflix, it will come up with a message at the login screen. Netflix streamin is not available on your unit in your region.
I have read that on some units netflix worked fine after setting country to USA, but others did get the same message that I got.
Perhaps it would work if I set up a VPN redirect service on another computer.

I did read a guide about setting up my router with some specific dns adresses, and that could probably work.
However this would make all my devices on my network to be via these dns's. Including my daughters tablet which I dont want to connect that way.
Redirecting via a pc would work, but the downside is that it would require a spare pc that have to be running all the time.
I did also read this article, which implies that vpn can be set up on samsung smart tv with some custom firmware. I dont know what custom firmware the author are refering to, as I only know about the samygo.

Ideally the best thing would be to have an extension like Media Hint running on the Samsung BD player.

It turned out to be even easier to get it working than I imagined.
Here is a short guide on how to get netflix (US version) working on HT-D6750W in regions that doesnt normally support it.
In my case norway, but it probablt will work from other contries and on other BD players/samsung units.
- First Enter Smart Hub, and press the following on the remote: FF(fastforward), 2 , 8, 9, RW(rewind).
If nothing happens, you might have entered the combination wrong or to slow, exit smarthub and go back and try again.
- Choose USA from the list of countries.
- Now you should be able to download the netflix app. Also the unit may download some apps automaticly, that is default for US. Some of your other country specific apps may also get deleted.
-Go back to menu and enter the internet settings.
- Set up manually and enter the following adress for DNS setting: 69.197.169.9
This IP adress might change later, but at the moment of writing this it is working.
- Go back to Smart Hub and launch Netflix.
- There should now apear message that you need to activate your unit and a code is given for you to enter at netflix.com/activate.
- Go to netflix.com/activate on your computer. Note that you might need to set your computer temporary to use the same dns as given above, in order to get into the US version of netflix to activate. (or use the MediaHint plugin on Chrome or Firefox)
- I did need to enter my code twice before it was accepted, but after the code is accepted you will get Netflix to load successfully on your Samsung.
ps. If the dns above stops working, just try to google for netflix US dns adresses, and you should be able to find many other options.

I just discovered that there currently is no way to select audio or subtitles on this version of Netflix.
It turns out that some BD players/HT units simply doesnt have this feature
There is a list at netflix that shows which features that are supported on some different units.
https://support.netflix.com/en/node/500
In short those models starting with E or F does support subtitles, alternate audo and 5.1 surround. But the models C, D, and P support none of these features.
