You can downgrade this TV if you root it... But there is no ExLink connection available also.
I propose a solution but this is not tried before;
You needed to crash your TV (I don't know how to do it, but might some settings at service menu could trigger this... ) than TV open shell at /dev/ttyS1 so I wish you can connect it then. /dev/ttyS1 could be connected to internal RS232 header too that means you needed to open your TVs backward. Your watch dog also needed to be disabled.
Might by JTAG flashing could cure this too but we don't tried this way also.
So it will not be easy to find turn back to older fw in this TV...
And for PSB550, you could try factory reset I wish that works.
