Inaccessible Hard Disk After 1 Recording

Hi guys,

I created 2 partitions on a 3Tb usb hdd to use on my TV.
One partition contained the "data"files while the other is formatted by the TV and used for the recordings.

I think I messed up the data files or copied them incompletely but not sure.
Anyway the drive, after 1 recording, has become inaccessible.
Even connected to my Windows PC it's invisible even in Disk Management or Device Manager although i can hear it spin fine without any weird clicks.

Anything I can try to recover the drive?

Thank you

Hi juuso thanks for the help.

I am aware of that but the problem is that Windows should at least see the hdd and ask to format it.

Also the hdd is not even recognized by the TV any longer nor seen under a linux system.

Any idea on this?

Thank you.

Well yes that is an option obviously but whenever I attach it either to the TV or the PC it does spins fine without any weird noise.

If anyone has any idea please let me know. :)

also got now several issues with my partitoned usb hdd after new samygo ext.

it happened now the second time, that my pvr partition isn't recognized anymore by tv, neither via linux, nor can i repair it with linux or osx.

don't know if it might be because of virtual usb activated, or the tv starts to record. have sheduled pvr recordings running when tv is off.

the last 4 month it worked without any problems. also don't know if it might happened after using pvrdecoder for windows. my other partition ntfs is working as normal under each system (linux/osx/windows/fritzbox router) so mailfunktion of hdd can't be.
