Deactivate tuner in service menu?

Hi,
I have a rather unusual question. In my country all tuners are subject to a yearly fee from the government [approx 300?]. It is legal however, to own a TV with a deactivated tuner and be freed from this yearly fee.

I was therefore wondering, is it possible to activate/deactivate the tuner in the service menu? Would really appreciate all help. Thanks in advance.

I have a Samsung UE55D8005 [FW ~23]

Interesting fee. You can de-solder the tv tuner from mainboard... Buy spare mainboard and you can replace it. One with, the second without tuner.

Also you can use one of available methods to activate greyed out options and set tuner - none in service menu, you will get popup to set tunner each time you start TV, this request could be patched out. I`m not sure if this proper way, just tried to imagine :)

The main question: how are you going to confirm to your government that you don`t have or/and will never activate tuner again?

Hi, yes it is an interesting fee indeed. I was hoping to manage with a 'soft' deactivation. I know there are shops which deactivate the tuners, but i do not know what kind of methods they use. So it may be possible in the service menu?

As for proving it, it am not sure how to go about it. I think i will contact a shop which does these things and hear what and how etc..
