Why do we need to install it?

Okey, do it. But don't cry after. If samsung wanted to support it, It needed to be deployed already...
I simply don't recomment any further up(down?)grades...

I fully agree on that. DTS is a question of licensees, which Samsung did not negotiate for "A" and "B" series TVs. Only "C" series get DTS support. The only reason why Samsung releases firmware updates is to close "security holes" which allows existence of SamyGO. So any upgrade will be a step backward. With respect to Samsung firmware: you won't get any new features for free without buying a new TV. So better support the SamyGO project.
