LA40C550 turn on issue

Hi I have a LA40C550 which does not always turn on, it is a main board issue.

Symptons is the red led is on when the power is turn on, it blinks when I press the power on button of remote but does not turn TV on, sometimes the TV does turn on about 10 mins later.

Do you think resetting the Eprom or reload the firmware would help?

Any advise is appreciated, thank you.

An Ex-link bootlog would be helpful
eeprom reset is worth the try, if it doesn't help or you damage something you need a new MB anyway...

i had the same problem with my C6000, but it was still under warranty so samsung replaced the MB without asking...

Hi beatfreak,

Thanks for your advice.

Is it a good idea first to try reloading the software T-TDT5DEUC 1024.1 by USB when the TV is turn on?

I have update the software to T-TDT5DEUC 1024.1 but still have the same issue, is eprom reset worth a try?

Will this break the TV? thanks anyone.

Actually, the decription of your issue leads me to think "Power Supply".
Your blinking LED reminds me of the notorious "Samsung bad capacitor power supply issue".
(Try Google "Samsung capacitor issue")

If you know your way around a soldering iron, and have a bored afternoon, simply replace all
capacitors on PSU, and your issue may wery well be gone.

I had exact same issue, but as my TV was still under warrenty Samsung tech simply replaced entire PSU-module.

Hi thanks for your response.

I have actually tried another power supply with the same result, so it is not the power supply but the main board.

I have tried eprom reset but still have the same issue, does this indicates a main board hardware issue?
