SamyGO

Hi guys,

the question may seem dumb, but... how do I reinstall SamyGO along with all the init scripts etc.?

I have root access, FTP and telnet working, just want to update SamyGO to the latest version and to "clean up" some messed up init scripts on my F6470.

It depends on which rooting method you're currently using.
-Public method: you have to delete SamyGO widget from Smarthub and reinstall new version from scratch
-Donor's method: unplug prepared USB device (from TV off) and replace samyext4.img file by the wanted/original one. Replug, done.

If your goal is only to recover .init scripts or some other files in /mnt, you can extract them from original samyext4.img (e.g. using UFS Explorer if you're on Windows) then overwrite them by FTP.

Does this mean, I have to repeat the whole thing from step 3 onwards? Where can I get samyext4.img?

Yes, but I see no reason to do it repeatedly once it works. If you like to mess up init scripts, backup them first
samyext4.img is in SamyGO.zip/data
