UN32D5500 reboots when trying to enter Smart Hub

Hi,

I have a UN32D5500, T-MST5IBRC, firmware version 1010.0. About a year ago, I tried installing samygo probably using what's described in

http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Root_a ... cpu_models

but it didn't work, perhaps because of discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=3929. However the TV worked fine several months after that.

In November 2014 I started to experience a reboot, which took place each 3 and a half minutes. I noticed that when trying to access Smart Hub, the TV would reset no matter the time since power on. I tried many things, among others resetting to factory defaults, but what it seemed to work was opening the back of the TV and putting a fan while powering on. Perhaps a temperature problem, I thought. With the fan, I entered Smart Hub with no problem. Then I just closed the TV again and worked fine by several months, until now.
By the way, the firmware version was 1011, but after the factory defaults reset went back to 1010. Perhaps a failed upgrade? I always tried to not upgrade, as recommended by you, because I hope someday I will be able to install samygo's firmware on my TV.

Now I tried the same steps as before, without any luck. This time, it reboots at around 2 minutes with 20 or 25 seconds (I measured many times). If I press Smart Hub button, it will reboot in around 1 minute 10 seconds.

I'm thinking maybe EEPROM reset will fix this issue, but I'm having trouble identifiyng the chip to reset. Also, I'd like to try reading its contents first. I have a EZP2010 programmer which supports 24/25/93 EEPROM chips.

I read

viewtopic.php?f=24&t=6911&p=69652

to find that the board is almost like mine. The chips identified by sbav1 as main SoC EEPROM (IC901) and submicom (Weltrend chip) EEPROM (IC1203) are present in my TV also. So I'd try to read those two prior to resetting.

The problem up to this point is that I can't get datasheet for IC901, which has written:

Code: Select all

ATMLH118
2ECL Y
.0J6800
Is it a 24/25/93 EEPROM chip?

Any insight or another way to solve this problem will be apprecieted.

Thanks in advance.

Do you hear any "click" goung from back right before it goes to reboot?

juuso, thanks for your reply. Almost no sound at all before rebooting. I recorded the sounds it make when powering on and off, just in case you'd like to hear. I think they are normal, but of course, I am no expert.

http://picosong.com/LVLC/ <-- power on
http://picosong.com/LVL5/ <-- power off or before reboot

Note: the sounds are amplified and noise-reduced, and are very high pitch. Play it the first time with low volume, just in case.

ah, i was hoping you will say me you hear some "click" rigth before it goes to reboot, this would indicate me to some capacitor problem. But now, no idea.

Thanks anyway.

I hope someone can point me in the right direction.

Hello, forgive me if this was mentioned before but i couldn't find it in H Series section.
There is some method to store recordings directly at network storage, similar to the one in the B-series.
-Create an ordinary recording device. I bet you have one already.
-Mount some network storage on TV - i prefer NFS system. You have it already, right? ;)
-SSH or Telnet to the tv
-create "CONTENTS" directory at your network storage, so full path to the new created dir form tv point of view will be for example /dtv/usb/sdb/nfs/192.168.1.105/storage2/media/recorded/CONTENTS
-copy all content of original "CONTENTS" at your recording device to the new created directory. In my case src dir was /dtv/usb/sda2/CONTENTS
-rename (or delete) original "CONTENTS" at your ordinary recording device
-make a symlink to the network place (eg. /dtv/usb/sdb/nfs/192.168.1.105/storage2/media/recorded/CONTENTS) named "CONTENTS" at your recording device (in my case it was /dtv/usb/sda2/).

Hi,

I know this is an old post, but this reboot problem seems to be a very common issue (there is a facebook page with 3k people complaining about this very problem).
I own a UN46D5500, T-MST5IBRC, firmware version 1014.0 rebooting every ~2 min as well.
Tried to reset EEPROM, but problem persists after that.

Using Ex-Link cable I noticed the same error right before TV reboots:
>>[ERR:TDcPrimeMicomInterface.cpp] t_ReceiveData():792 Micom Receive Data Size Error...Size 0

I just started to read SamyGo documentation last week, so, any tips will be very appreciated.
Thanks in advance
