I hope someone can help me. I have a UE55ES7080. I want to do Firmware Update, because Smarthub makes always Autoupdate after switching on the TV. That takes always at least 5 Min. So I think maybe this update solve that problem. And I want to have my TV updated. In the menue (not service menue) I see Firmware Version 201500. On Website there is version 2015.05 available.

I have done all right - I also called Samsung Support and we make update procedure with the USB Stick together. There is also no problem on the USB stick. Stick is also recognized by TV (I get first autoplay menue: Play Photos, Video, etc).
Firmware is extracted on the stick. When I start the update, TV is looking for the firmware... after a few second I get the message that aktualis.dat is not found.
Samsung support can't help me and asked me to repair the TV.

I have done already a factory reset with my TV a few month ago because I thought Smart Hub Update can be solved by this issue.

All the rest works nice.

You already have 2015.5 (=latest) so that's normal you can't upgrade. Only value shown by service menu is accurate.
However, downgrading to 0000 (viewtopic.php?f=50&t=7544) and reupgrading then to 2015.5 (or less) might solve Smarthub updates "issue".

I have seen that... it's strange that firmware release date is 2015.03.04 and I have done firmware update last year. Maybe it has it done automatically in background. but this function I switched off.

Any idea why my SMART Hub makes almost always download and new installing when I switch on TV?

Infos on Samsung site are never reliable. 2015.5 is 2015.5

The same goes for all E-series, but on E-7/8 (as yours) it has been reported that downgrade trick is likely to avoid these annoying (and unuseful) updates. It's up to you to try or not.

Can anyone confirm that downgrading from 2015.5 (december and march version) works using the 0000 firmware?

@mrdancer, samsung published 2015.5 on 2014.12.19 and now again on 2015.03.04, using the same name. No idea why, though.
