Hi all,
today a friend of mine posted that he wants to sell his tv because "it's too big".
He bought at least 3 months ago and he sells it out for half prize (money aren't a problem, for him).
So this 'noon i went to him to see his tv.
I have read here that root for h is possible and it's based on skype.
The first thing i did was to watch on installed apps but no skype installed.
Then i opened SamsApps but i've not found skype in any section !!!
Tv is good ... and for half the price and 3 months of use, it's marvellous !!!

But no root, no party ... so i'm asking you:

- is there a way to install skype on that model ?
( i've read something referred to dev account, but i'm not sure it will work and where to find a skype app)

- is there a way to root it w/o skype ?

I won't harassing, but i have to choose if buy it or not.

And i'm not finding clear statements ... please help !!!

Upcoming new root won't need Skype and SHOULD work on it. No deadline though (doesn't depend on me ), so you'll have to wait "some time" as many other users before being able to root it...
In wait, don't forget to disable OTN ASAP

Thank so much zoe, now i can seriously evalutate if take the risk or not.
But w/o any statements like "NO!" or the one you posted, buy that tv probably will lead me to a sad ending (no skype=no root=no party).
(Your post doesn't says "YES!!!", but at least says that something with no skype required is on the go ... someday )

Well ONLY if you have smart hub. I don't know if there are ANY H models which have smart hub apps but NOT skype ....

Samsung and skype aren't clear about this.
I learned, searching skype for that model, that even if on the box there was a skype logo, when the user went to smarthub, no skype !!!

Some businnessmen complained to skype's forum that they bought one for conference calls and they can't because no skype to install.
There are a lot of models that lacks skype on smarthub. But they are listed as compatible !!!!

It's a swindle ...

BTW, that tv (that will probably became mine ...) has smarthub but in samsapps no skype to install.
