I have TV Samsung model UE40HU7000 with Novatek chipse T-NT14UDEUC firmware 1039.5 OTN support grayed. For get root and always disable OTN support for Samsung need do:
1.First better disconnect ethernet
2.Get root from see link viewtopic.php?f=70&t=9622
3.Downgrade firmware see link viewtopic.php?f=70&t=9497
4 downgrade use link (how do )http://www.samsung.com/uk/support/skp/faq/1057760
downgrade the firmware to version T-NT14UDEUC_1022.4.
4. And after downgrade do again root with disable OTN support.

Right, don't forget to follow whole procedures carefully, especially warnings, preliminaries and notices

zoelechat, About use Wi-Fi connection for root to work. LAN still not work or i can use LAN?

"Follow procedure carefully" means you have to use wifi
I will release soon stuff to switch to LAN once rooted...

after successfully root you can switch from wifi to lan. But this will work only until you reboot your tv (maybe SoftPowerOff is for you a solution).

After Reboot with lan active you must change back to wifi and only power off and on the tv again if you want root.
