Re: Network file sharing (samba) enable on E version

Yeah, I use minidlna on Debian too (custom machine, not a NAS), and it worked fine for me until now.

Re: Network file sharing (samba) enable on E version

Why aren't you guys just installing a DLNA server on the machine you want to share your files from?

Re: Samsung smart tv is connect to internet but cannot displ

If your router is set to only WPA2, try changing it to also accept WPA connections. I had a similar problem, where my TV connected to the router, but couldn't connect to the internet (although it didn't display any errors at all), and changing that in my router settings helped.

Re: Avoid undesired app updates

There was a key combination to change the country setting on the device. Normally, after you change the country and go to the SmartHub, it will update all the apps according to your country. When it does that, you can check the logs on your router to see what servers the TV connects to to update the...

Re: Keyboard

The Logitech K400 seems to work just fine with most smart TVs, and, since it comes from logitech, I'd guess it should be good quality. I myself bought one of these (seems to be a ripoff of the above keyboard) because it's smaller and has backlighting.

Re: DLNA Storage

You could always get something like this: https://www.modmypi.com/shop/raspberry-pi/raspberry-pi-and-modmypi-case and attach some USB HDDs to it. It's pretty low-cost, it doesn't consume that much energy at all and I guess the hardware should be enough for a DLNA server/torrent box. Also, since it r...

Re: ue40es5500

This worked for me too, with samtoolbox v0.11, and I didn't even have to switch to hotel mode. Just went to Menu -> Channel -> Transfer Channel List ->Export to USB, plugged to PC, edited, plugged back to TV and then Menu -> Channel -> Transfer Channel List ->Import from USB (Pin was 0000 for me BTW).

Re: Bug reports + patches + Question

For Android phones it's pretty easy to recover from a "brick" status, if you have a usb cable and a bit of patience, it's a shame really that manufacturers go as far to "steal" your freedom to do what you please with the hardware you buy. This secure boot thing I have heard of fr...

Re: Bug reports + patches + Question

Ok, I understand, guess I need to read a bit more before I go out bricking my device :-P Sorry for the noise then... :-) P.S. in 'betterRemove.patch', you can remove the DeleteDirectoryForced function completely and just replace the calls to this function with calls to 'shutil.rmtree'. Also, if ther...
