I attached now my HD to the TV and tried it. The earlier created thumbnails have been removed, but it seems that new thumbnails are not created each time I play a videofile. Any clue, someone? EDIT: just for the record. It seems to be working right now, after playing videofiles just for a few second...

Now I would be prepared to use ExLink. I finally got an adaptor for my serial cable (2,5mm -> 3,5mm).

BUT: my questions above are still not solved. I just need to know if FW version 2008 can be manipulated via ExLink
