afaik the only reason to downgrade a c65xx would be compatibility for noDRM patch which works until 3011

first reset to factory settings via normal menu and after that go to service menu and do a factory reset from there.
if this does not work, your only hope is to find somone with the exact same model to compare the settings.
(or read something about eeprom reset)

i dont remember what you have to do to use it for recording, but the tv will have to format the stick from FAT32 to XFS and then do a rw performance test.
