I would say it is mostly development time, api was mostly how you get search results and stuff, you couldn't get HD link through there anyway. Samsung was supporting HD quality playback and I don't think that YT changed it that much. YT still probably works on older devices, it is just matter of making search XML parsing compatible again, I just do not have that TV anymore so if anyone know JS/HTML it should be relatively easy to make parser for either real youtube search or use of new API
