More feasible is to go old-school & run some season emulator on the TV with hardware cam. Does the exelink serial have rts line? If not, then USB2serial would have to be used, or possibly some pic/atmel based cam-data to sssp protocol adapter with eg oscam running on the tv.

I realized that, soft cam techniques are illegal, aren't they?
