My BD-D5300 return from warranty repair. They change mainboard and now I got 1013 firmware :)
So I got older software by changing hardware.

Now I need find way to open Service Menu.

Can confirm this downgrade worked on my BD D5300 that was running 1025.0 firmware. Yes ive dropped down a bit on firmware but hey ho. Is there a definate firmware when Cinavia was injected into the BD D5300? Is there any way of updating to a firmware with better MP4 playability, bug fixes?

your device has SWU_B-BRCM65BSP_001025_I05_ES000DS000KS000BS000RS000_120322 firmware, so check the first post in this thread and then make your decision...

is it actually possible to downgrade BD-D5100 bluray player via dns (internet) or is it a case of solder and motherboard scenario?

On my d5300 unit I changed the DNS setting, turned unit off for a few mins. Turned back on, searched for an update and it came back saying upgrade to 1090 first time it failed but the 2nd time it downloaded and installed, worked with a cinavia download Divx movie.

Unlike some people here, I did read before posting. I also have a BD-D6500 and unfortunately I upgraded the firmware to 1025 before I discovered this piece of crap called Cinavia on my player and figured out what it was. Samsung sucks for crippling people's working devices, and this will be the last Samsung product I ever buy, or anyone I have influence over will buy. If Samsung thinks they can get away with this sort of thing and not pay a penalty by losing millions in customer loyalty, they are sadly mistaken!
My thanks to arris69 for doing something to correct this injustice.
That said, I understand the risks and would like to take my chances with the downgrade please...
