Hi sectroyer, great work you are doing on BD - finally somebody!!!
I have a question - what about "D" series? I am interested especially in D8900... I can do any research or tests on this...
Thanks for any info.

Yeah great but what are you interested about this model ? :) I don't know anything about it and I don't have ANY bluray player :D
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

Well I do have one, it was defect and the service returned it not only repaired, but also with updated firmware, so I lost SamyGO on it... :(

I had a bit more success with my BD-F8500 after I compliled new kernel modules and had virtual usb/smb stuff working I went back to try and workout why the MST12 modules were not loading since its the same toolchain and similar kernel some of them should work. it turns out its ptys.ko thats crashing the system and SRS is working apart from the mount stuff

=============================================================
SRS_module v0.2.4 - (c) bugficks 2013
[SRS_mod] patching CONFIG_EXECUTE_AUTHULD
[SRS_mod] task_kill(authuld): 0
[SRS_mod] authuld_fake_auth: 1
[SRS_mod] patching CONFIG_USE_ARS
[SRS_mod] patching CONFIG_SERIAL_INPUT_MANIPULATION
[SRS_mod] CONFIG_MOUNT_SECURITY - bind patch location not found.
[SRS_mod] CONFIG_MOUNT_SECURITY - noexec patch location not found.
[SRS_mod] patching CONFIG_PRINTK
=============================================================

with SRS working I can inject .so into exeDSP and not have it crash/reboot after a while.

I wanted to decrypt recordings at this point but libPVRdumpkeys did not find any files seems its only looking on usb so I made a symlink on a usb path to it and ran it again and yay keys :)

Code: Select all

mkdir /dtv/usb/sdj1
ln -s /mtd_wiselink/CONTENTS /dtv/usb/sdj1/CONTENTS
so now most things are working or partly working I can play stuff directly from my NAS and decrypt recordings :D
