Samsung BD-D5300/ZA - Warranty is up so that's why I'm here.

Hi everyone. New here.

I own a Samsung Bluray player model BD-D5300-ZC.

The firmware is BSP-D5300ZC-1031.1

I've been having issues trying to connect it to the internet. DHCP doesn't seem to work at all and neither does the manual option. I tried resetting it like I remember I was told to do years ago from a Samsung agent on the phone. They told me that if I held a couple buttons down on the front of the unit it would reset. So I did that. Discovered that it changed my model number from BD-D5300-ZA to what it is now.

Anyway, I also noticed that Linux is installed in this damn thing and I was hoping that maybe some people around here have thrown together some sort of custom operating system or something that I could somehow install in the thing by CD or USB (because the LAN connection is non-responsive...the network light shows it works but on the tv it's unresponsive).
