and? if you think here is virus inside, then you are wrong. App has www server on 80 port and this why your Norton thinks it is potentially dangerous. But if you are scared, don't use this app, unplug Ethernet cable, power off your PC and tv - then you are 100 percent safe

did you read description? No, root is not needed. This app just serves widgets for your TV.

I would like to use linux version, once available. All my pc at home are fedora's 19.

I used the widget manager under Linux without problems using wine. It has to be run as a privileged user to be able to use port 80, but if that's a risk you are willing to take it should work fine.

download link is incorrect, should be so <download>http://192.168.11.106/widgets/SamyGoF.zip</download> otherwise the widget installed is incorrect path.

2) The problem with national characters in path.
