Re: D Series Alternative WiFi Dongle HW
I have noname rt3072 dongle and I changed PID/VID at "TV".
By using rt3070.ko, compiled from Samsung kernel source.
TV recognize dongle but reject connection with original drivers.
Anyway you can connect with rt3070.ko if your network is open, not have WEP/WPA protection.
You have better to buy rt2870 or rt3570 chipped series. Which are compatible with integrated drivers.

Re: D Series Alternative WiFi Dongle HW
Unfortunately, I have a UE37D5500 so I can do nothing from the TV itself.
My only chance is to find a "mod-able" dongle.
Anyway, I am intrigued by the fact that both dongles - DWA-125 rev.A3 and EW-7711UAn - (using several versions of Ralink driver) do not respond to "e2p" read command (iwpriv ra0 e2p $addr) and not even to "mac" read command (iwpriv ra0 mac $addr). I even tried the "iwpriv ra0 set ATESHOW=1" and "iwpriv ra0 set ATEHELP=1" but those two lack response also, although they must show something - as stated in sta_ate_iwpriv_usage.txt file that came with the driver.
Strange...

Yes RT2870 and RT357x dongles are compatible with D series but RT307x ones. (Greetings from Istanbul)
Re: D Series Alternative WiFi Dongle HW
Hama 62740 USB 2.0 Wireless LAN will work on UE46D6000 then? I've spent a ton of hours searching for one of these!
Re: D Series Alternative WiFi Dongle HW
Hi recently installed SamyGO on UE32D6000 TV. Recently tried to plug Linksys WUSB600N v1 usb wifi adapter, but looks like TV doesn't accept this device, though according to wiki this dingle uses RT2870 chip. So maybe someone knows how to fix this problem?

Re: D Series Alternative WiFi Dongle HW
It's normal.
You needed to change it's PID/VID settings to make it compatible.
Also you can't be sure if it has RT2870 chip inside.
You needed to plug it some Linux PC and have to look what driver it uses to be sure...

Re: D Series Alternative WiFi Dongle HW
Well i did check it this dongle in archlinux, and lusb said that this is rt2870 based device. Also tried to change VID/PID is not possible on this device, because iwpriv says: no ioctls. So is there any chance to make it work with SamyGO??
