Hi! Will Edimax EW-7711UAn work on my CL model B series tv (UA40B7000)? This usb adapter is listed as tested in the wiki but when i checked the chipset info it says it uses RT3070 (http://wikidevi.com/wiki/Edimax_EW-7711UAn). So im kind of confused? please let me know if this adapter works with my tv with hack or without hack?

IMHO should work if you can find it listed on wiki.

I got it working, i downloaded the ubuntu 10.4 driver for EW-7711UAN and hacked it using a Vmware by following your guide in the wiki. Everything is working now, im able to get the internet and share files aswell! Thanks a million you guys.

The wiki states incorrrectly that Edimax EW-7711UAN has a Ralink rt2870 chipset but it has a Ralink rt3070. So that's what I've done:

1. Download Ralink 3070 wifi drivers for Linux (http://www.mediatek.com/en/downloads/)
2. Creat a Debian Live USB.
3. Make & make install the driver (I've changed HAS_WPA_SUPPLICANT=y and HAS_NATIVE_WPA_SUPPLICANT_SUPPORT=y inside /os/linux/config.mk but I've left HAS_ATE=n because the driver had trouble to compile otherwise).
4. sudo rmmod [module-if-exists]
5. sudo insmod os/linux/rt3070sta.ko
6. sudo ifconfig ra0 up

Finally, I've changed successfully the PID and VID of the adapter.
The 15euro wifi usb is recognised by my LE40B750, connected to my WPA2 network and I've already watched an 720p movie. Thanks samygo!!
