I have LN40B640 and it shows that both the 1013.0 and 1014.0 versions are supported however when I do the pathcing and do the upgrade there is nothing changed on the TV and its mentioned that if I wanted to run the APPs then I need to select Content Library applications list after inserting the USB flash drive but I don't have such option...

the only options I have when inserting the USB disk is either media player or software upgrade

Any idea of how to get this to work on this type of TV?

the most I want this for is the web browsing, any idea if it can be done on my TV?

this TV is limited and doesn`t have Content Library. But you can use patched firmware (pre-patched to launch SamyGO without content library). Check B series wiki.
