Question.

When performing Step2 it sees the 2010 firmware, i Cancel, remove USB-stick and erase, then put the other 2010 on the USB-stick.
Then i insert it in TV again but it says: No file available to upgrade

Any tips?

Situation: TV PS550B50, firmware 2009.0 Step 1, NO alternative firmware (greyed out)

Thanks for your fast reply but no, even a factory reset did not do the trick.
FYI After Cancelling the upgrade and removing the USB-stick, the TV exits the menu.
When inserting the USB-stick again with the new data i have to manually choose upgrade>USB and then it says: No File Available to Upgrade

Maybe it's a problem that i skipped Step1 ?
I had several firmware upgrades performed already and as stated in this guide it's not needed if you have 2009.0 as firmware even though it doesn't show alternative firmware?

Show your first screen of service menu where we can see current firmware and version...

As you can see, i changed the device to B650 instead of B550.
RS-232 Jack: Debug
Watchdog: Off
Wiselink WithOut DB: With DB
Wiselink Movie: On (but grey)
WiseLink: DLNA: On
Wiselink Write: On
High Devi: On

It shouldn`t show you alternative firmware, because step1 firmware is so called postfeb and limited. It won`t let you get back to previously used version (which version it was?). Maybe we could "roll back" once again, but to this, non restricted version using step1 (with some modifications? principle is same and you get your i guess T-CHL5DEUC-2008.0). But you have to be sure you definitelly made some firmware upgrade procedures on this tv and you haven`t selected "delete alternative" in service menu.

Thanks again for your effort. To get things straight and make no mistake (and to rule language-errors out) :
  • I did NOT perform Step 1 because i already flashed my firmware and came to the state i described in the post above.
  • Because i already have 2009.0 Step 1 and configured the TV like described above i thought i could skip Step 1
  • So, like you said: it's logic there is no alternative firmware to show
  • I made my last changes in March 2012, i am SURE i did several firmware upgrades, and i DO NOT remember deleting alternatives (why should I)
What steps to take from now on? Should i first try again to get Ex-Link to work and can i somehow check my present 'state'?

... Is there anyway to check the facts stated above before going to the next level?
... Somehow i think that the firmware i have now is modified and therefore must be capable to use Ex-link etc.
... This is where i stranded last time in March...
