DVB-T2 implement.

Post by miazza »

Hello people.
today I have realysed that starting from 1st january 2015 in Italy the DVB-T will be switched off (slowly as usual but it will be switche off).

From the Samsung site it seems that my UE46ES8000 is not compliant with that standard (even if it seems that the UK version is DVB-T2 compliant).
Having it clear that it is not only a simple SW/FW modification is there any idea like MOBO replacement with a F8000 serie in order not to attach another stupid decoder to my almost new smart-TV ?

Some versions support dvb-t2 yes. I'm wondering the same thing, is hardware actually different?

tuner type is changeable in the service menu... you can find that tuner and replace in the board...maybe will work (if it is for the same series)...
I switched my C6510 to C6710 by changing the board, because i needed a sat tuner... The board on C6510 was sat ready, so probably soldering tuner from c6710 would work.

Yes. My new 40F8000 supports DVB-T2 (at least the Spec say so).
I will cope with HW mod when it will arrive the moment in Jan 2015.

I find it really crazy that in one year from now my ES becomes a Monitor.
