Input Lag

Hello everybody on the SammyGo forum!
So my problem is: I recently bought a Smart Tv, a UE40ES6100, and it's great but i has one problem on HDMI it has a very high input lag, i mean really high, i guestimate almost 200mS.
Here's a list of things I have tried:
? I have changed the name of the HDMI connection to game.
? I then went and disabled all the image enhancements manually.
? I tried changing the resolution to a lower one and it had no effect.
? Tried a shorter HDMI cable.
All of this was tried with no CMR, no LED Motion Plus, no Noise Filter and other image enhancements disabled.
Any ideas on how i could fix this?
Would a firmware update help?

All due respect, I find this kind of funny .. Shortening HDMI cable by 1 meter will lower the signal propagation time circa 4 nanoseconds. Don't they teach elementary physics in schools anymore these days? ;)

Turning Game Mode "On" in Menu -> System -> General may be pretty helpfull.

Also, test the following setup:
- use HDMI1/DVI connector,
- 1920x1080@60Hz mode,
- don't use overscan etc., and set Picture size to "Screen Fit"
- turn off all unnecessary image processing options/enhancements, eco settings, etc.

In best possible circumstances you can expect input lag to be in the ~2-3 frames range (33 miliseconds and up).

What is the lag between?
Video image and Audio?
Or are you playing a game or something where lag is between your controls and the video?

"Game Mode" should fix the second case, for the first case there was an option on my tv for audio lag which I was able to set. By default it was set to 100ms iirc, I changed it to be 0.

yup turning on game mode is neccesary to reduce input lag for gaming/pc
also make sure skype and social media app is not starting up with the tv . > disable social, uninstall skype
reset the smarthub so its empty and no registration is there > tv factory reset
like mentioned turn off all enhancement, you might wanna consider movie mode
this will end up in about 28-32ms input lag on HMDI 1 (indeed not 2 and 3) on a es8000

lol @ shortening HMDI cable xD. its digital and like sba mentioned its gb/s connection therefor lag for a 10 meter hdmi cable would be around 42 nanosecond

btw u can also do something a little more tricky.. go in factory settings and find hmdi calibration. set your pc with a blu-ray movie 1080p DTS-HD 3D so it will saturate the HDMI bus, now go in factory settings and while on HMDI 1 input you select calibrate HMDI. this will fail and u end up in non-calibrated HDMI port, however it will still work and nothing wrong with it except the input lag is reduced another ms or 2

Hello again guys!
After more experimenting i found that the lowest perceived lag was while the HDMI input was on PC mode, while GAME mode seems to have the same delay as the unnamed HDMI input and the same terrible picture quality. Although the PC mode input lag is livable with, I would like to try and lower it more.
Now another question: Why doesn't GAME mode do what it is supposed to?
The TV model is UE40ES6100.

Yes i know, but hearing it being recomended one too many times, I became paranoid enough to try it.

When using it on a pc the lag is noticeable even while moving the mouse cursor on screen. So basicaly, controls.

You can't blame all the lag on the TV, check your PC and video card! (+ settings) Probably it's working overtime when in HigRes mode to HDMI. For example, by waving my mouse around on an old dual-core PC very fast, I can increase processor use to 66% while noticing minimal problems on external video playback.
