Hi Eagle,
Yeap I have run into a problem with erratic keyboard chacrators being displayed puttys terminal, this I believe was due to an oversight in my approach to the Rx wiring side, I am looking into that now and asked Sbav1 to look over my re-thought out wiring, I will update the info ASAP.
Please except my apologise, this is a work in progress, warts and all..

I WILL ALSO REMOVE THE PREVIOUS CN801_D WIRING IMAGE UNTIL i HAVE THIS ISSUE CLEARED UP..

Ok. Here is my version of Exlink connection on my BD-E6100 connected as arcadian2002 scheme.
As my DKU-5 cable is broken, I did not get the script. I ordered a new one, so let see if it works.

Okay guys I am now looking for some serious help,
with the DKU5 wired as shown previously on thread page 3 image easy cn801_d , i.e directly to the pads, while booting the player outputs a complete and readable log file,
but at no point can i get an echo, unless I join my tx&rx wires together, would one of the guys who have wired cn801 as i have let me know weather they are getting an echo or not, and could i ask for those with more experance to suggest a possible direction for fault diagnostic.
I would really appreciate some help with this draw back.

Cheers Guys
Ian

I have just discovered that if removed the Gnd wire I can get an echo on the teminal window and also still see the bootup log displayed.
I an not sure of the correct sequence of events that are needed to invoke the debug mode so i tried the following
1.opening the terminal input the key 20102011 which is correctly displayed,
2. hit enter on the keyboard and start player at the same time,
nothing happens except the players boot log is displayed which seems to finish at the line :-
>>> NETWORK_STATUS [OFF_LINE];

I REALLY COULD DO WITH SOME HELP HERE GUYS

Ian

Hi guys.
for those that are still following my sloooow progress, i FINALLY have some good news to report :D , for the first time I have managed to see the TDM and debug menus, attached is the log script displayed in Terra Terminal, i guess the same could be seen in PuttY.
My problem to date was that i always thooght the TDM console was accessed/ reached by opening putty or terra terminal and entering the 20102011 code, although the code was correct, i had to wait for the boot sequence to finish,THEN type in the code.
So Guys as you can see i have explored a couple of the menus, what do i now need to be looking for within those menus in order to try and change the region code???

ALL HELP WELCOMED.
Ian

P.S i am not sure how you all upload your log files with the data shown within the thread any help with this would also be great...

Hi Greenhorn,
yeap I did read all of Eagles thread, to get to the TDM we must allow the player to fully boot , on mine the wording 'Flash 7' appears I can then input 20102011 which enables the terminal input, followed by 20089999 for TDM.
It seems that after all our efforts we are at the same level of frustration in that we cannot get access to what I believe should be 'KEY 12' 'the main factory setup menu' were we would be able to change the player's region.

let me know how you get on, I have ordered a 3.5mm stereo jack just to tidy things up, in the hope that samsung or someone here may be able to step in and enable the factory setup menu.
FINGERS CROSSED,
Ian
