So I've managed to backup some of the official apps over the network to my computer.

How about setting up a download section for these apps somewhere on your servers? Along with a nice list that keeps track of the version number and release date so that user can check if they are still running the latest version of a particular app?

Thats a great idea, but its illegal to host these apps, so i doubt anyone wants to do it.

Oh, wasn't aware that hosting them is illegal as they are basically free to download - but makes sense of course.

How about adding a simple spreadsheet to the wiki, which users can edit when they detect an app update? Just to see if you're still up to date?

Apps don't update automatically if you are using them in another region...
