Hi Tom,

exlink cable is working now. Please let me know how to start.

First send ex-link output of tv-boot to my mail. I'll try to detect what parts are same and what are different.
Then setup nfs share on a linux box. First try to load umicom.img - it is good test and you will need it for comfortable setting U-Boot environment.
I'll pack current image and write some instructions.

DVB-T support for showtime: my idea is to use tvheadend (dvb-t backend from Andreas ?man, author of showtime) and make a "shortcut" for local stream.
So you can configure channels and access epg over tvheadend's web. When you start dvb-t in showtime, player will use stream in kernel dvb infrastructure instead of getting a network stream. Tuning channels directly by IR rc probably will not be possible.

I'm not sure about memory footprint. When showtime plays, less than 20 MB is free (from total 128 + 64 MB)

I'm worried about the footprint as well.

I don't see how to redirect the hdmi inputs to showtime ?

HDMI inputs not yet handled.

I created a wiki page http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Open_s ... A7/8/9_SH4
We should add a todo list to wiki. HDMI handling, factory and user setting go to the top.

Hi,

this is really promising. I was able to play mkv movie throught DLNA in showtime. showtime looks very good and only needs few enhancements. 8-)
Maybe it could be possible to use both showtime and neutrino-hd (for DVB-T support only). We could use a daemon that could switch applications when pushing the wiselink key for instance ?

Do you think you could enable zram in this kernel ? Could help if we are missing a bit of memory. Of course zram is consuming cpu but active applications only use a part of allocated memory so it could work pretty very well if we don't use swap too much...

No, zram would just slow down the system. No swapping, no zram. Just save couple of MB.
I know where we could save, but haven't got time to do it.

juuso: I don't see any PrintScreen button on my remote. Do you really want me to stand up and bring a camera?

I just compiled neutrino-mp. It looks VERY good... (I'll fix couple of trivial problems and then make photos - hopefully today)

juuso: look at wiki. Hope that new screenshots will make you happy.

First tests of neutrino-mp:
- works fast and fits into memory
- nice graphics, sophisticated menu system
- HD channels (H264 on DVB-T) does not work - FIXED
- movie player does not play any video - FIXED
- bad character set for czech EPG - FIXED
- I miss native smb: browsing implemented in showtime

Looks promising...

Edit: change of framebuffer memory layout fixes problems with video
