It's auto-extractible exe, you can open it as archive in 7zip (dunno what else on mac) for example.

Thank you, cracked it. I had The Unarchiver handy and that opened it up no problems.

Did the file you downloaded here work?

The 1165.1 update.

For UE55KU6670S model (running firmware T-JZMDEUC) the link is:

http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/d ... 1165.1.exe

Seems that yesterday T-HKMFKDEUC firmware (eg. for UE55K6300AW) has been updated also to 1165.1:

http://org.downloadcenter.samsung.com/d ... 1165.1.exe
Why are there two links to 1165.1? How do I tell the difference.

I just got a KS7000 (KS8000 in the US) <----- Hooray for me
I'm located in the Philippines (Asia Pacific) and found that I am on version 1102 a very old firmware.

I am very wary of getting automatic updates. So I'd like to ask which of these links will work for my TV? How do I tell?

Thanks for the help.

One is T-JZMDEUC, other is T-HKMFKDEUC. Same number, different fw/model.

KS7000 is T-JZM... (only difference between 7000 and 8000 is single/dual tuner, possibly same TV with only different OneConnect Box)

Then yours is T-JZMUABC (=Asia), not T-JZMDEUC (=Europe)

Therefore none. :)

@zoelechat

Thank you so much for the prompt response.

It's sad none of these links will work for my TV, anyone can point me to the link that is compatible with my TV?

Should I just stick with 1102? I'm happy as it is even with some of its quirks.

If you're happy with current, common advice is indeed to stick to it. Also it's unusual from Samsung that any update fixes any "quirk" (most likely "feature" to them :) )
If you want to update anyway, here's a bunch (sorry I've no link to 1165... Of course beware no downgrade possible!!):
SpoilerShow

Code: Select all

http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/FM/201607/20160708130212220/T-JZMUABC_1113.0.exe
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/FM/201609/20160919124033358/T-JZMUABC.exe //1134.0
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/FM/201610/20161017112933152/T-JZMUABC.exe //1142.0
http://downloadcenter.samsung.com/content/FM/201611/20161121201642621/T-JZMUABC.exe //1152.0
Don't ask me which one is better :p

Hey thanks for the links.

I really appreciate it. Version 1152 does not have too many complaints right? So we can deem it relatively safe?

Not more, not less than others, hence don't ask :)
ps: I'm personnally on 1111, if it helps...

Successfully updated my firmware to version 1152 last night using the USB method and so far I'm not noticing any additional quirks. So far so good.

This was a positive step for me since in version 1102 there was no HDR+ feature (though I doubt I'll ever use it.)

If anyone can direct me to a link for version 1165 for the Asia Pacific region, I'd be eternally grateful.
