Hello,
I am trying to change the TV mainboard (model F8500).
I know that the mainboard I purchased comes from a different screen size (64" instead of 60"), different region and local set .
When I plug in the new board I get just a black screen.
Should I try a hardware reset on blue connection as describedon below link? https://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php/UnBric ... set#EEPROM
Other solutions that I can try? maybe via RS232 link but I am not sure that it was left in debug mode.
The EEPROM reset will set the connection to debug mode? If yes, how can I use the RS232 to enter service menu in order to change the panel settings?
Thanks

Re: Change mainboard, EEPROM reset
In the mean time I found the EEPROM - hidden under a heat sink: S24C51
I have the tools to read it and I would like to check the info for local set, type and region.
Could anybody help me with the EEPROM content from PS51F8500 or PS64F8500 or PN51F8500 or PN60F8500?
Thanks

Re: Change mainboard, EEPROM reset
Status:
With other mainbords from other TV dimensions, the TV is starting but the mainboard has a flasing error 5 times. Then the TV is receiving remote signal and is reacting with sound part but no screen. If I put the same mainboard from same screen & region then the TV is working fine.
Back to try to make the TV to work with a mainbord from set for other TV dimensions and region:
step 1: set-up a another board and tried to modify in blind the settings in service menu; factory reset worked but the rest of settings ... I do not know; no other results
step 2: copy the EEPROM S24C51 from another mainboard that works on this TV screen - same results
This is actually frustrating. I imagined that all service menu settings are in this EEPROM and now I know I am missing something but I do not know what.

Re: Change mainboard, EEPROM reset
Step 3: EEPROM reset (having it already saved and verified before) between pins 4 (GND) and 5 (SDA), after verifying the pins specs for this chip.

I repeated and same result. I am not sure how to check if it was done. Maybe another read of EEPROM after TV turn off before first turn on?
Step 4: Ex-link cable ... still in progress and not sure how it can help
Any other suggestions, please?
