The firmware source you downloaded just holds the code for the kernel and a bunch of libraries to show images, play sounds etc. The code for the software that actually drives the entire device (app_player) is proprietary and not included in the source package. So the thing you want to do will not be easy. To do so, you would need to find the app_player executable, from an encrypted firmware file (haven't seen too many of these yet for bluray), and patch that to enable whatever is inside the code.

You might want to start with decrypting the firmware. Denny (card2000) has made some major steps in that area. To do so, you will have to have root access to your device first. That will take some tinkering with the hardware, and possibly a bit of soldering as well. Depends on the device. I don't have a P3600, so I can't help you there.
