samsung ue55d8000 and 1 TB external hdd

HI can anybody help me with my problem with samsung ue55d8000. Bought 1 TB 2.5 external hdd( formatted with NTFS ), connected to tv but the tv did not recognized this hard drive. I want use it for playing movies. Any ideas how can I resolve this problem? Many thanks

write to samsung thats maybe a good idea to send the developers to some linux workshop, or they should send the private key for signing of the kernel to samygo developers.

We don`t have any advice to you. Sometimes the power is not enough (if powered from USB) so you have to try use powered USB hub and/or eternal power.

Samsung recommends to use 2 partitions with 500 GB each. Maybe that's worth a try.

thanks for help. I contacted samsung but they did not help me. I tried 2 partitions with 500 gb each as well but it did not help either. Many thanks again

you need a cable from one end to have a usb and the other end two usb. 1 jack will go on TV and end with 2 jacks = 1usb in HDD, 2usb an external power for 1 A min. I had the same problem as you and now everything is ok. successful.
