BD-E8509S

Post by dejmos »

Hi!

I'd like to root my new BD-E8509S for easier NAS usage (Synology DS210j).
The DLNA is driving me nuts, my old LG HR550s isn't that good, but with my NAS its nice to use.
I just want easy file access without DLNA, can somebody help me?

Hi,

As far as I know, the BD-E serie has not been rooted yet.
I am using my BD-E8300 with a Synology RS812 and it's working fine.
What kind of problem do you have ?

With the Diskastation Mediaserver I can't see all files that are located on my Diskastation, only music, photos and videos.
Simple Networkfolders can't be seen!

I can see my shared folders on my BD, and I can browse into them (and not only music, photos, video).
On your Synology, did you add the folder root you want to share in 'Control Pannel / Media Indexing Service / Indexed Folder Tab' ? (the names might slighty different because mine is not in english).

I wish I could delete the default folders 'music', 'photos' and 'videos' because I don't use them... Unfortunately, it's not possible.

No, I don't; I prefer the Synology media server : no need to install anything on a pc.

Yes, that works, but i don't need the mediaserver, i want simple network-folder access without file-indexing :D
My BD gives me only access to the mediaserver of my synology, not the simple network-folders (HDD's).

Then, I'm afraid you have to wait for the BD-E to be rooted in order to use NFS...
