Hi from a newbie and a couple of questions

HI,

Thanks for a great resource - I used the information here to hack my LE40C650 some time back and it works fine. I mainly use it as a PVR.
I have a question:
I am currently on T-VALDEUC-3003.
Can I download the official T-VALDEUC-3011 or the latest 3015 firmware and use it to upgrade my TV in the normal way using a USB stick? i.e the official Samsung method?
Will this overwrite the hack?
If it will, can I re-hack it? I understand that the easy widget method wont work, but I am comfortable with linux and can do the hotel mode method.

You can install 3011 or 3015. Do not install 3018 (downgrade will not work anymore, except you have rooted TV). PVR decrypt patch AFAIK work to 3011 FW (any newer will not work). If you have rooted your TV with the internet widget hack, you will definitely loose it after FW 3008.1. So, you have to do the hotel mode hack. If you have rooted via the hotel mode hack, probably will still have it working after any upgrade.

I dont think I used the widget hack method - I did this sometime last year - I dont think the widget method was available then.

So if flash 3015, I wont have PVR functionality.
But hotel mode hack for other functionality should work with 3015 also. I may need to rehack using hotel mode method.

I recommend to go with 3011. Then if you loose the hack, just do a rehack.
PS: internet widget hack is available since 3 years at least...

PVR will still work with 3015 and 3018.1, HotelMode will stay but could also be re-applied.
but the unencrypted pvr patch only works until 3011
so if you only want to watch your recordings on this device you have free choice of firmware.
encrypted recordings will still be decryptable with destroi or sth.
