Yeah we have some progress... Does the Skype hang for you ?
I do NOT support "latest fw" at ALL. If you have one you should block updates on router and wait for it to STOP being "latest":)
If you want me to help you please paste FULL log(s) to "spoiler"/"code" bbcodes or provide link(s) to pasted file(s) on https://pastebin.com Otherwise "NO HELP"!!!
If you want root DISABLE internet access to your device!!!!
DO NOT EVER INSTALL FIRMWARE UPGRADE !!!!

Didn't try it. I am not such fan of the Skype rooting method....I used to have root on E series using Skype - Periodically root was lost, had to reset many times Smarthub, sometimes TV had switched off......
Someone has mentioned here, in this thread, that there could be an alternative method for root using Wifi adapter or something ? Is this a viable solution?

yea i guess ur right..... but anyways, now that i have skype installed in smarthub, everytime i try to run it, it will stop at the skype loading screen and after about a min it automatically closes on its own. after installing it, do i need to power off the tv then power back on? from what samsung told me, this model tv isnt compatible with skype. however i managed to get it on there via logging in under develop acct and running a web server on my pc and directing appsync to my pc.
