Skype app will not be available

Hi,

Please can you assist with bringing back my skype,

My TV is UE46ES8000 with SEK-2000. (Did have Skype ver3 on it) - FW: T-ECPGDEUT-1040.2, TB-GFPDEUC-1040.2, I think this is equivalent to the "H" series now? - I have disabled firmware updates at the router level as was greyed out in the engineers menu.

I did try E&F installers, which installed correctly but they both just hung on loading and luckily did not damage TV(now removed & re-set smart hub)
I am Willing to donate for this great project

Actually on SamyGO here is no support for any kind of SEK upgrade kits.
Internal folders and pathes are different to stock TVs due to the attached kit.
For sure it would be possible to root and to use skype also with upgrade kits but no one did it completely (and as it looks like will not).
There was one user who did it root with SEK-1000 (but without SamyGO extensions) but then this project stoppt!
That means with SEK installed you will never get full suport here I'm afraid.

If you want to have FULL SamyGO and FULL Skype rip-off this SEK-2000 stuff and go with stock ES8000 (which is still good powered with its DualCore)

I have also an SEK-1000 (cheap 40 EUR) lying around but never installed as I noticed all the hassle with this and the not available SamyGO.

Thanks for the reply and information, I have installed Skype without the sek-2000 installed and everything works great (Skype), but the operating system is so dated (latest for E) That I loose a lot of functionality (codecs) when playing film's through NAS ect, so not a good trade off . Thanks again

I understand skype installer is available for E/F series now, but do you think you will succeed to create the same for H series?

Which FW do you have without SEK on your TV? I have the recommended 2003.4 and never had codec issues (via Samba share).
Don't use this DLNA Media Player share - this sucks!
