You said that binary diff will be larger than original exe.img, but you needed to try it first. It takes 23 KB file with xdelta tools
This tool available in linux, macOSX and windows. But distros has the xdelta package. So there is no need of linux executable. MacOSX and Windows xdelta tool means there is 2 additional file near of SamyGO script is more modular. I also think that downlading those images with wget like code from internet. So SamyGO script does not need to bundled with external binaries at all
