Samba server slow - laggy video in high bit rate scenes

Has anyone tested this issue on a N router, yet?

Acctually, I do not understand why it should be as you described it. What's the peformance of your N-WLAN? I'm wondering since everything is working fine with the 100MBit cable LAN which should not be much faster than N-WLAN.

Also there is a signal issue. If your router places at too far location, than signal gets weaker and actual bandwidth will decrease. Ideally, you needed to have TV and router at same room.
How about NFS? AFAIK, It require lower bandwidth than Samba.
