F-Series Questions

Hello again,
I have another question. As mentioned, I had successfully changed countries for my App store and have the Apps which I mainly wanted (UK Apps). But I noticed doing so deletes all other apps as the store changes. Is there a way I can retain these apps? I would of course like some Apps from Germany where I live as well, and maybe even Australia. The UK apps are the most important, but it would be nice to also have the others.

until you dont have root access, this is not possible.

Did the codes work on an E-Series?

It's been a while since I've been here, but anyway, if anyone still reads this, yeap, the codes work a treat. I can change the country store at will, and then have access to any of the apps in the new store. I do need a service such as Overplay's Smart DNS to access the overseas content, but generally speaking it works great.

Now that it seems the E series has been rooted, is there any way yet to be able to select apps from different stores without all the apps deleting each time the store is changed. At the moment, I can connect to the UK store and add UK apps, like BBC's iPlayer, ITV etc. But if I want the TVNZ app from the NZ store, I need to change countries and this deletes all the UK apps first.
It would be absolutely amazing if there is a way to keep all the existing apps and just "add" an app from a different store.

The best suggestion here would be stop depending on vendor.
Grab everything you need and install it as user widgets.
To do it you have 2 possibilities - either use legal way with develop account or root it and copy directly to /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/user/<wgtid>
Widgets installed from store are in /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/normal
Widget ids can be found in /mtd_rwcommon/common/wgtmgr/info2.xml

I can't recommend highly enough the above approach, especially the 2nd option.
I live in the UK and whilst wanted to have BBC iPlayer and other UK apps, also wanted some Spanish apps such as RTVE a la Carta. MY approach has been changing the samsung app store country with >> 289<< to Spain and rooting the device as explained in the wiki
http://wiki.samygo.tv/index.php5/Rooting_the_ES-series
Then access your telly by ftp and copy the apps you are interested in from /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/normal
Go back to your country store and root the telly again.
Finally access it by ftp and copy your desired widgets to /mtd_rwcommon/widgets/user and reboot.
Et voila, there they are along your country widgets. Only drawback is that they will not update, you will have to check them manually.
Cheers and many thanks to samygo

Thanks guys,
Your tip worked out perfectly. I am able to get Australian, New Zealand and Irish apps onto the UK Smart Hub. Some of which I have working already.
This is really amazing!

Hmmm, this used to work on my ES-6900 series, but when I tried it again, it get's stuck when I try the step: User Application Synchronization
Here, it says it is installing something with an abnormal name and just hangs at that spot.
Any idea what is now wrong?

My one is ES8000 and with this same issue can't synchronise even from the beginning, does it because of the updated version ? My SmartHub Ver. is 4.540-5.0
I also like to know if this root successes is that possible to install other apk apps and run on the TV as well?
