The TV rebooted literally just now. According to the log nothing changed. I don't think the log actually captures what happens when it shuts down like that.
I also noticed it did not click before shut down, only after when it boots up again (which I believe is normal behaviour for this TV?).

Wow, I noticed your reply today (3 months after...). I was thinking of scrapping the TV but it bugs me that it still works somehow. There must be something I can do?
Anyway, to answer your question juuso: yes, it should be off. I have attached photos of my service menus and the initial screen. I find it a little bit strange that it says 40b7000 instead of 7070 (this is what is says on the back of the TV).

Thanks for your answer juuso. I opened up my TV today to check the capacitors but they seem to be intact (perhaps 1 that might be bulging a little bit).
Is it possible in any way to do a full clean of the firmware installed? E.g. reverting back to original purchase date firmware?
I'd like to fully remove everything that has to do with samygo just to make sure it's the actual psu and/or mainboard that's defect. I'd like to avoid purchasing any hardware until software is fully ruled out if you know what I mean.

Surely someone must be able to tell me how to fully remove samygo firmware?
