p.s. in the meantime ticketed to the Samsung support, get visited by Samsung technician who doesn't know almost nothing, next day visited by manager of local Samsung branch office and he knows a little more than nothing.... got promise about "puting the problem on higher level" and thats all...sadly, very sadly....but OK, no more Samsung trash for me

Okay I didn't notice. If you are using DLNA then it is very likely that your DLNA server doesn't correctly support you current TV. That's all. You should use wireshark and to check if it even asks for subtitles (there is a special DLNA request for that). I would contact Synology not samsung :) If you have MOVIE_TITLE.SOMETHING and MOVIE_TITLE.srt then it's probably the fault of your DLNA server. If someone (let's assume me ) tell you that it works for his/hers DLNA server it won't help you :)

well I don't think so. I find out that, when I choose NAS (or any other source which TV "see" via WiFi, even SAMBA from PopCorn C-200) as source on TV, a pop-up menu shows up with just 3 options:
1. Video
2. Music
3. Pictures

but, when I hook up some external HDD on any USB port, the pop-up menu have 4 options:
1. All files
2. Video
3. Music
4. Pictures

so, my opinion is that this is some flaw in Sam's FW.

Connecting device to USB should display different menu. That's expected behavior:) When I get back home I might check my DLNA server but if it works for me it won't help you at all. It will only indicate you have problem with your NAS:)

do you have "H"" series TV? bc on all my others TV's there is 4 options in pop-up menu, but they are all "F" and "D" series.

Yes I have H TV. Everything works for me as for you (just don't remember if with my DLNA server subtitles are working). Just as it is expected. I had many times problems with accessing content trough DLNA and it always required fixing something in my DLNA server :) That's why I am not surprised you have some problems with DLNA :)
